Melissa was also named Best Emerging Blues Vocalist a few years ago by OffBeat magazine at the House of Blues in New Orleans. And yes,I think she’s played P-town and Michigan Fest. Be sure, too, to check out Laurel and the Untouchables playing Southwest Louisiana and Southeast Texas and the new gay club here, Club Illusion, nearer the college campus than the old downtown club, Crystal’s. I haven’t been yet, but the word of mouth is it’s totally awesome!I already know for a fact that Laurel is out of this world, having heard her at public and private gigs and at church - this woman’s "Ave Maria" will bring you higher!
