To
our loyal supporters,
We
are very sorry that we have
not sent out an official newsletter
in over a year. The reason
for this is that Amazing Dreams
Publishing is struggling to
stay in business, and we now
have only one part-time person
on staff to handle our website
and newsletter. The same person
is also handling our 24/7
coming out support group with
the help of two long-time
moderators.
We believe
that the
reason that our company is
struggling financially is
because a little over 2 years
ago Google
blacklisted the key words
"lesbian" and "bisexual"
as pornography.
This
decision effectively ruined
the ranking of our company's
website, and the number of
inbound links from non-pornographic
websites with similar content
coming in to Amazing Dreams
Publishing went from over
1,000 to 7.
Amazing Dreams Publishing
has over 200 pages and has
been online and providing
free services for women worldwide
since 2001. You
can still find our website
if you know the name of our
company, but it no longer
appears in the top listings
for people who are searching
for keywords that are relevant
to the services we provide.
Because Google blacklisted
the keyword "lesbian"
as pornographic, the Amazing
Dreams Publishing website
is grouped with hard-core
adult websites, which it is
not in that category.
The result of this unfair
categorization is that our
company went from being on
the first page of Google for
many related keyword searches,
to not coming up in the listings
at all. Our book and affiliate
sales have gone to practically
nothing, and this income is
what was funding our free
services including our support
group for women coming out.
Our
free support group has been
has been online since November
6. 2003, and since that time
we have helped over 5,000
women worldwide. Our group
now has over 1,000 members,
and it takes between 15 to
20 hours per week to safely
run it. This is done as a
totally free community service.
When
our books sales were going
great, volunteering this amount
of time was no problem, but
now we are struggling to keep
our coming out group online
for the women who really need
support.
We
have been researching ways
to not have to close our doors,
and we'd love you to help
us in any way that you can.
