Kim
Denise started painting in the summer of 2005, when her
mother and son gave her an easel as a 40th birthday gift.
"I
guess they knew what they were doing," she says. "A
psychic had told me five years before that creativity was
a necessity for my health. I took a few classes, but then
allowed time and space constraints to put my interest on
the back burner. Now, I wish I hadn't waited. Since I've
begun painting seriously, my life has blossomed in all directions!
A simple quote from Claude Monet sums things up for me:
'Thanks to my work, everything is going well.' "
A healer and intuitive, Kim infuses her paintings with a
deep restorative energy. She is fascinated with the play
of light and the sacredness it imparts to the humblest of
objects. Her vibrant still life paintings often feature
glass, with a focus on reflected light and color.
Kim's
work resides in private collections nationwide. She has
exhibited in national juried pastel shows, and is a member
of the International Guild of Realism, the Silver Chord
Art Guild, and the Vermont Pastel Society.
Kim's healing practice is not limited to art. She and her
partner Catherine guide people through the withdrawal and
recovery from psychiatric drugs, teaching them to create
fulfilling lives naturally. Kim writes extensively on healing,
nutrition, and the power of mind.
Kim
is also an avid gardener. She is happiest when her hands
are dirty, whether with soil, pastel, or paint.
